Laura has dedicated over 15 years to community development and public health, driven by a deep commitment to social justice and advocacy. Her work focuses on dismantling systemic inequities by addressing the social determinants of health and advancing equity.

She prioritises deep listening and collaboration with marginalised communities to influence policy and drive social change, recognising the entrenched power structures that perpetuate injustice and the necessity of challenging the status quo.

A researcher at heart with a creative approach, Laura is passionate about the intersection of lived experience, policy, and systemic transformation. She recognises creativity as a powerful tool for human connection and social change. At ThirdStory Laura co-led a two year co-design initiative alongside wāhine Māori, examining the barriers and enablers to breast and cervical cancer screening access for wāhine Māori in Kirikiriroa.
