Jewelz is a Māori changemaker and community strategist passionate about Indigenous self-determination, equity, and systems transformation. Based in Aotearoa, she works at the intersection of kaupapa Māori, social innovation, and collective leadership.
Jewelz brings both lived and learned experience to her practice - drawing from her whakapapa, a Master’s degree in Social Change Leadership, and her role as an Atlantic Fellow for Social Equity. Her work is grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems and driven by a deep commitment to intergenerational change and decolonial futures.
At ThirdStory, Jewelz brings a relational, decolonising lens to projects that aim to shift power and centre community-led responses. She has contributed to the Tāmaki Makaurau Play Systems project and also supported the Breast Screening for wāhine Māori co-design project, collaborating with health providers and communities to understand systemic barriers and develop more culturally resonant, equity-driven solutions that uphold the mana and hauora of wāhine Māori.
