Sophie Bament
Sophie is a Project Lead at ThirdStory. She is passionate about creating transformative spaces that support people to think differently about social challenges and what is possible.
With a background in the Arts and experience across the not-for-profit, health and Early Childhood sectors, Sophie brings experience across program delivery, capability building and event production to ThirdStory.
Before joining ThirdStory, Sophie worked as part of a design team delivering The Apiary, an initiative of The Front Project, that builds systems change leadership capability across the Early Learning sector. She also convened the alumni network, designing opportunities for people to connect and unpack a deeper understanding of the challenges they’re working on.
Sophie’s practice has also been shaped by her work in the health sector. At Parkinson’s UK she worked as a key deliverer of a peer support program that enabled people living with Parkinson’s to make positive change in their own lives. The program was facilitated by people with lived experience, and this experience has shaped her belief that change is only possible when the voices and expertise of people with lived experience are genuinely listened to and centered.
Sophie has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Lancaster University. Outside of work she loves pottery and has a keen interest in yoga and the mind-body connection.
